Following the Israeli news means opening a dozen tabs - Ynet, Walla, N12, Maariv, Israel Hayom, Globes, Haaretz, Times of Israel and more - each with its own layout, ads and biases, and no way to see what the whole press is leading with right now. Aggregators that do exist are either English-only, ignore RTL, or rehost full articles and starve the outlets they scrape. The opening was a single, fast wire that reads the entire Israeli press at a glance, ranks by genuine heat rather than recency alone, stays polite to the sources, and reads natively in both Hebrew and English.

Built as a Next.js app that pulls RSS/Atom feeds from ~12 outlets in parallel with per-source isolation - a broken feed never blanks the page - normalizes and sanitizes them, and links out rather than rehosting. An optional, single batched Claude call categorizes every headline, dedupes the same story across outlets via a cluster id, scores hotness and writes a one-line summary; without an API key it falls back gracefully to feed categories plus recency ranking. Feeds and enrichment recompute at most every three minutes via ISR, so pages stay fast and feeds stay polite. The design is an editorial newsroom terminal, not a SaaS dashboard: warm-paper canvas, a single press-red used only for live/breaking signals, serif headlines, and a signature wire rail - a hairline timeline with a pulsing live marker and a monospace timestamp column ticking newest-first.
